Hudak places seventh at golf tournament

Tallmadge resident Darin Hudak finished in a tie for seventh place with a score of 83 in the boys 13-to-15 age group at the Kenny Novak Championship July 28 at Club Walden in Aurora.

A total of 26 golfers participated.

 

Trio fares well

Three Tallmadge residents helped the Asian Sun Martial Arts competition team bring home a school-record 15 medals from the Amateur Athletic Union National Championships, which concluded July 8 in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

Jeff Heerema, 44, captured a silver medal at the competition.

Also participating were Ryan Heerema and Stewart Crighton.

 

Basketball program offered

The DG Warriors youth basketball program is scheduled to host a fall 2016 basketball skill development program for boys and girls entering grades three through 12 in the fall.

The skill sessions and games are set to take place on Saturdays only (no weekday practices) starting Sept. 10 through Oct. 22.

The first three sessions are scheduled to take place Sept. 10, 17 and 24 at Hawken Lower School in Gates Mills and will move to Reminderville Athletic Club's two high-school size hardwood courts for the Oct. 1, 8, 15 and 22 sessions.
