Rege sets records for lifting
Chris Rege, a 2004 Tallmadge High School graduate and current Tallmadge High School wrestling coach, is a member of the Wounded Warrior Powerlifting team.
He recently competed at the Revolution Powerlifting Syndicate New York State Championships.
The competition took place Aug. 7 in Buffalo.
Rege won his weight class and set two RPS world records.
He also set two New York state records during the bench-press competition in the 242 amateur and military amateur single ply division.
His bench of 625 pounds set a RPS Military amateur record and it broke the RPS overall amateur record by 50 pounds.
Rege was ranked eighth in the country and 48th all time ever.
He owns three RPS world records and six RPS state records for bench press.
Rege trains out of TNT Strength in Kent.
