Shootout set to

take place in Kent

The Knights of Columbus Soccer Shootout 2016 is scheduled to take place Sept. 27 at the Riverwood Chapel (1407 Fairchild Avenue, Kent).

Registration is set to begin at 5:30 p.m. and the shootout is scheduled to take place from 6 to 8 p.m.

The shootout is for boys and girls, ages 9-14.

Get Hall of Fame tickets for wrestling

Local residents who wish to buy tickets for the Ohio chapter of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame's induction dinner can do so online at www.oh-nwhof.ticketleap.com.

Longtime Greenmen wrestling coach Dick Bliss, who recently announced his retirement, will be honored at the Oct. 16 event at the Embassy Suites in the Columbus suburb of Dublin.

A social will begin at 2 p.m., with dinner served at 3, followed by the inductees presentations. Tickets cost $50 per person and must be purchased by Oct. 7.

Golf outing offered in Kent

The Tallmadge High School baseball and softball teams are scheduled to offer their second annual golf outing fundraiser Oct. 9 at 9 a.m. to help fund their spring trip to Myrtle Beach, S.C.

The outing is set to take place at Sunny Hill Golf Course in Kent.

Play hoops

The DG Warriors youth basketball program is set to host a fall 2016 basketball skill development program.

The program is for boys and girls (grades 3-12).

The sessions are scheduled to take place Oct. 1, 8 and 15 in Reminderville.
