The Tallmadge girls and boys bowling teams competed at the 2017 Falcon Classic Jan. 6 at Legend Lanes in Cuyahoga Falls.
The Lady Blue Devils finished fifth out of nine teams with a score of 3,395. Stow-Munroe Falls won the competition with a score of 3,731 and Fairport Harbor Fairport Harding (3,679), Copley (3,432) and Akron Archbishop Hoban (3,406) placed second, third and fourth, respectively.
The Tallmadge boys finished 10th out of 16 teams with a score of 3,740.
Nordonia won the competition with a score of 4,318. Stow-Munroe Falls (4,200) and Eastlake North (4,123) placed second and third, respectively.
Lady Blue Devils' freshman Kirsten Moore finished first out of 38 girls bowlers with a 633 series.
Teammate Emily Kiss placed sixth (569) and Tawney Beans finished 24th (459) for Tallmadge.
Also competing for the Lady Blue Devils were Hallie Turney (26th, 445) and Kristina Beckwith (35th, 356).
The Tallmadge boys were led by Parker Braccio (596). Also competing for the Blue Devils were Robert Wilson (556), Austin Moore (531) and Gabe Griffith (495).
Both teams were scheduled to host Suburban League rival Hudson Jan. 12 at Stonehedge Lanes in Akron. They were set to visit Suburban League foe Cuyahoga Falls Jan. 13 before heading to AMF Twin Star Lanes in Kent Jan. 14. Results of those competitions were not available at press time.
Tallmadge is scheduled to compete at the Martin Luther King Invitational Jan. 16 at Stonehedge Lanes. Bowling is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m.
Tallmadge is set to host Suburban League rival Wadsworth Jan. 19 at Stonehedge Lanes. Bowling is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
