The Tallmadge boys and girls bowling teams combined to finish second at the Martin Luther King Invitational Jan. 16 at Stonehedge Entertainment in Akron.
Tallmadge advanced to match play by placing third in the opening round. Tallmadge defeated Claymont 3-0 in the first round and rallied from a 2-1 deficit to defeat Copley 3-2.
Tallmadge lost to Fairport Harbor Fairport Harding 3-1 in the championship round. Tallmadge lost two of those games by a combined total of 30 pins.
Gabe Griffith had the high series (584). He rolled games of 168, 201 and 215, respectively.
Austin Moore was next with scores of 166, 211 and 185 and Robbie Wilson contributed scores of 174, 152 and 212.
Emily Kiss led the girls with scores of 168, 191 and 150. Kirsten Moore contributed scores of 132, 164 and 149. Hallie Turney bowled a score of 188.
