Several Tallmadge swimmers, two divers compete at district meet

Several members of the Tallmadge boys and girls swimming and diving teams competed at the Cleveland Division II district meet Feb. 17 at Cleveland State University's Busbey Natatorium.
The boys team finished tied for 18th with Aurora and Orrville. All three teams scored 25 points. A total of 27 teams competed.
Junior Ryan Riter led the Blue Devils with an eighth-place total of 276.65 points in the 1-meter diving competition.
The 400 freestyle relay team of Riter, senior Keith Oyler and sophomores Alex Krukemeyer and Nick Sabetta captured 13th with a time of 3 minutes, 39.1 seconds.
The 200 medley relay team of Oyler, Riter, Sabetta and junior Kyle Wilbur finished 14th in 1:49.85.
Sabetta also placed 19th in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 58.57 seconds.
The Blue Devils' 200 freestyle relay team of Oyler, Krukemeyer, sophomore Jared Shumaker and Wilbur finished 19th with a clocking of 1:39.68.
Oyler placed 27th in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1 minute, 3.61 seconds.
Krukemeyer captured 24th (2:20.03) in the 200 individual medley.
On the girls' side, sophomore Miranda Sally placed 19th with 163.05 points.
Tallmadge's girls' 200 freestyle relay team of sophomore Maddie Parry, freshmen Emma Grund and Isabelle Davis and senior Alyssa Yamokoski also participated.
