Tallmadge sopohmore 106-pounder Ed Suber might not finish in the place he wanted at the Division II state wrestling tournament.

However, he will finish on the podium at states.

Suber secured his first All-Ohio spot March 10 at the state tournament at Value City Arena in Columbus. He will wrestle Circleville's Trey Finnearty for seventh place in Division II at 106 pounds March 11.

Suber started poorly in quarterfinals, as a last-second takedown Lisbon Beaver's Cole McComas handed him a 3-1 loss.

Needing a win to secure an All-Ohio place, Suber went to overtime in second round consolation match with West Holmes' Thane Kaufman. Suber was able to spin behind Kaufman to get the takedown in the sudden victory period to win 4-2.

In the third consolation round, Suber had another close match, but lost 3-2 to St. Paris Graham's Tanner Jordan.

Wrestling at the state tournament will resume at 10 a.m. March 11.
