The Tallmadge softball team made a stellar 2017 debut at the Ripken Experience competition March 30 in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
The Lady Blue Devils posted a 12-6 victory over Lakeview (Pa.).
Hallie Mullett and Emily Pratt pitched for Tallmadge.
Autumn Malicoat led the offense with three singles and a home run and Madison Rearick had three hits, including a triple, and three runs scored.
Also contributing for the Lady Blue Devils were Jordyn Severns, who had three singles and two runs batted in, and Olivia Carey, who had two hits, including a triple, and three RBIs.
Tallmadge was scheduled to conclude its trip to South Carolina March 31.
The Lady Blue Devils were set to play Columbus Bishop Watterson and Worthington Christian March 30 and IC Catholic Prep March 31. Results of those games were not available at press time.
They are set to host Suburban League American Conference rival Copley April 3 before heading to Barberton for an American Conference showdown April 4. Tallmadge is scheduled to entertain Highland April 6. All three games are set to begin at 4:30 p.m.
The Lady Blue Devils are set to host Woodridge in a doubleheader April 8. First pitch is scheduled for 11 a.m.
