Tallmadge boys track finishes fifth at Bill Barry Invitational

The Tallmadge boys track and field team finished fifth with 56 points at the seven-team Bill Barry Invitational April 8 at Thomas Rossiaky Stadium.
Highland won the competition with 111.5 points and Rocky River (101.5) and Uniontown Lake (97) placed second and third, respectively.
Lucca Passarelli led the Blue Devils with a first-place time of 42.22 seconds in the 300-meter hurdles. He also won the high jump with a leap of 6 feet, 2 inches and took second (16.19) in the 110 hurdles.
The following Tallmadge athletes scored team points:
• 100 meters: Nick Hussing, fifth, 11.73 seconds
• 800: Ryan Riter, sixth, 2:10
• 1,600: Riter, fifth, 4:43.2
• 400 relay: Vinnie Sgro, Sean Ambrose, Passarelli and Hussing, fifth, 46.68
• 800 relay: Richard Quintrell, Hunter Sally, Ricky Clark and Sgro, sixth, 1:43
• 1,600 relay: Ambrose, Sally, Vince Labosky and Hussing, fifth, 3:51
• 3,200 relay: Zack Brown, Labosky, Garrett Ansley and Riter, third, 8:39.2
• Pole vault: Ansley, third, 10 feet; and Lawrence Strebler, fifth, 9 feet
• Shot put: Blake Bockus, fourth, 43-2
