The Tallmadge boys track and field team earned its first dual meet win of the season April 18 by a 74-54 score at Suburban League American Conference rival Barberton.
The Blue Devils improved to 1-2 overall and 1-2 in the conference.
Ryan Riter, a junior, won the 1,600-meter run with a time of 4 minutes, 41 seconds. Sophomore Zach Brown finished second (4:51) and junior Vince Labosky was third (5:00).
Riter also won the 3,200 with a time of 11:04. Brown placed second (11:12) and his classmate,e Alex Krukemeyer, took third (11:33).
Riter, Brown and Labosky joined sophomore Garrett Ansley to win the 3,200 relay, clocking in at 8:44.
Labosky also won the 800 with a time of 2:09, while his twin brother John Labosky placed third (2:24).
Sophomore Lucca Passarelli finished first in the 110 hurdles with a time of 16 seconds. Senior Jacob Brieding and sophomore Ryan Kaufman tied for third (20 seconds).
Passarelli also won the high jump with a leap of 5 feet, 10 inches. Mitch Pflugh took third (5-4).
Passarelli, Dan Hepler, a senior, and Vaughan combined with sophomore Nick Hussing to win the 1,600 relay, clocking in at 3:48.
Matt Kieke, a junior, won both the shot put with a throw of 44-.5 and the discus with a toss of 115-10.
Alex Vaughan finished second in the 400 with a time of 57.1. Hepler was third (58.2).
Hunter Sally, a senior, was runner-up in the 200 with a time of 24.8.
Hussing placed second in the long jump with a leap of 18-6.
Hussing finished third in the 100 with a time of 11.8 and Brieding took third in the 300 hurdles with a time of 49.9.
