The Tallmadge High School athletic department is scheduled to conduct sports physicals for students entering ninth through 12th grades May 20 at the high school from 9 a.m. to noon.
Any student interested in participating in a sport in the 2017-18 school year must have a current physical.
Ohio High School Athletic Association physical evaluation forms must be printed, completed and signed by both athletes and parents prior to their physical with Dr. Jeffrey Bachtel.
Bring the hard copies to the physical for Dr. Bachtel to sign. It is available on the Tallmadge City Schools website, click on "Parent," then "Forms and Downloads" and then "Athletic Forms."
The cost of the physical is $10. Make checks payable to Dr. Bachtel.
To set an appointment, call the Tallmadge athletic office at 330-633-6956. Do not drop in. Appointments must be made.
Tallmadge Middle School is scheduled to offer sports physicals for all sixth-, seventh- and eighth-grade students May 8 and 9.
All physicals will be conducted by Dr. Jeffrey Bachtel, Family Medicine Doctor at Summa Health Medical Group Bachtel & Associates. The physicals are set to take place both days in the athletic office from 7:30 to 9 a.m.
The school only offers physicals in May. Students who were interested in receiving a physical were required to fill out the necessary paperwork.
The Ohio High School Athletic Association allows student athletes to use their May physicals throughout the following school year. Physicals are not handled through insurance, so students can still receive one physical through their insurance within the calendar year.
