Tallmadge track teams conclude first day at Suburban League Championships

The Tallmadge girls track and field team was in third place in the American Conference with 16 points after the first day of the Suburban League Championships May 9 at Nordonia High School's Boliantz Stadium in Macedonia.
Vanessa Lane won the high-jump title with a leap of 5 feet, 2 inches. She defeated Aurora's Leah Angelo and Highland's Jenna Saunders on misses.
The 3,200-meter relay team of Claire Cate, Morgan Moses, Chloe Heestand and Ravyn Edge finished fifth with a time of 10 minutes, 54 seconds.
Amela Masic captured eighth (4 feet, 6 inches) in the high jump and Lauren Bradshaw placed eighth (30-9) in the shot put.
Qualifying for finals were Sara Johnson in the 100 and 200, Alexis Malish in the 100, Brittney Harris in the 100 hurdles, Madison Tasich in the 300 hurdles and Lauren Bradshaw in the shot put.
The boys were in fifth place with 13 points.
The 3,200 relay team of Zack Brown, Vince Labosky, John Labosky and Ryan Riter placed fourth in 8:43.92.
Matt Kieke added a seventh-place throw of 125-6 in the discus.
Qualifying for finals were Lucca Passarelli in the 110 and 300 hurdles and Sean Ambrose in the long jump.
