The Tallmadge boys track and field team was in 11th place with four points after the first day of the Austintown-Fitch Division I district meet May 17.
The district competition is scheduled to conclude May 19.
The top four athletes in each event and top four relay teams advance to the regional competition, which is scheduled to take place May 24 an 26 in Austintown. The competition is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. both days.
Blue Devils head coach Mike Srodawa did not return telephone calls.
Nick Hussing finished seventh in the long jump with a leap of 19 feet, 7 inches. Teammate Seam Ambrose captured eighth (18-11.75).
The 3,200-meter relay team of Zack Brown, Vince Labosky, Alex Krukemeyer and Ryan Riter placed eighth with a time of 9 minutes, 4.65 seconds.
Qualifying for finals were Lucca Passarelli in the 110 hurdles and Labosky in the 800.
Tallmadge finished in sixth place with 77 points in the American Conference of the Suburban League Championships May 11 at Nordonia High School's Boliantz Stadium.
Highland won the seven-team competition with 134 points and Copley (125) and Kent Roosevelt (108.5) placed second and third, respectively.
Passarelli had a big day for the Blue Devils.
He won the long jump and finished second in two other events.
Passarelli had a first-place leap of 6 feet in the long jump. He also ran second-place times of 15.37 and 41.64 seconds, respectively, in 110 and 300 hurdles.
Tallmadge's other win came from Riter, who won the 3,200 with a time of 9:56.79.
Vince Labosky placed second in the 800 with a time of 1:59.94.
