Three Tallmadge athletes advanced to the Division I regional track meet.
Seniors Vanessa Lane, Brittney Harris and and junior Sara Johnson advanced after their performances May 17 and 19 at the Austintown-Fitch district meet.
The top four finishers in each event advanced.
Lane won the high jump with a leap of 5 feet, 5 inches.
"It was my best jump of the year," Lane said. "I did think I had a chance. My mindset was to get first place."
Johnson had a third-place leap of 16-2.5 in the long jump and Harris was fourth in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 16.16 seconds.
"Sara had the flu and Brittney definitely didn't run her best race of the season, but they both still did what they had to do," Lady Blue Devils head coach Mike Srodawa said.
Overall, Tallmadge finished eighth with 33 points at the 13-team meet.
Solon easily won the competition with 132 points and Geneva (90.5) and Fitch (67) placed second and third, respectively.
Johnson, Harris, senior Alexis Malish and junior Madison Tasich finished fifth in the 400 relay with a time of 50.69 seconds.
Johnson finished seventh in the 200, clocking in at 27.95.
Freshman Ravyn Edge placed seventh in the 1,600 with a time of 5:30.12.
Also finishing seventh was the 3,200 relay team of Edge and classmates Claire Cate, Morgan Moses and Chloe Heestand with a time of 11:10.3.
Senior Lauren Bradshaw placed eighth in the shot put with a throw of 31-7.75.
Harris, Malish, Tasich and freshman Jill Catalano combined to finish eighth in the 800 relay with a time of 1:51.93.
